What is the Icebox Advisors Panel?
Icebox Advisors is an exclusive online research community whose members are
rewarded just for giving their opinion. When we plan to conduct a marketing
research project, members of the panel will be sent email invitations to
participate. The exact nature of the projects will vary, but many of them will
be web-based surveys. If you receive an invitation, you may participate or not
- that's your choice. Most projects don't take much time, and will offer some
kind of incentive as a "Thank You" for your time and effort.
Icebox Advisors is operated by C&R Research Services, Inc., 500 North
Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 (www.crresearch.com).
C&R Research is a marketing research company that provides research
services to many companies that make products and provide services to consumers
and businesses.
All material on the Icebox Advisors web site
(www.iceboxadvisors.com) and in our surveys is copyrighted by C&R
Research or used by permission. All data collected in our research projects is
the property of C&R Research Services, Inc. or our clients. Return

Who can join the Icebox Advisors panel?
Anyone living in the United States and its territories who is 18 years old or more, may join Icebox Advisors. Admission to Icebox Advisors is limited, and solely at the discretion of C&R Research Services, Inc.

What kinds of research projects will I be invited to
participate in?
Icebox Advisors may participate in many types of marketing research projects,
including online (web) surveys, interactive discussions, bulletin boards, focus
group discussions, individual interviews, in-person interviews and visits,
in-home testing of products, and telephone interviews.
Research topics may include such topics as advertising and experience with food
products, hobbies, interests, health, family relationships, and life
experiences, and opinions on any number of issues suggested by our

How often will I get invitations?
How often will I get invitations? That depends on the number and kinds of
research projects we're conducting at any given time. It is our goal to give
every member of the Icebox Advisors panel at least one chance a month to take
part in a project, but to avoid sending more than one invitation per week to
anyone.
Sometimes we find ourselves conducting a series of projects that require people
in one region of the country, or of a certain age, or something along similar
lines. In that case, people in other parts of the country or of other ages may
not get as many invitations for a while. We can't really predict things like
that, but don't worry if you haven't heard from us for a while.
Panel members receive invitations based on criteria established by our clients,
so we cannot guarantee how frequently they will be invited to participate in
projects, or even that they will ever receive an invitation. Invitations are
sent to members at the sole discretion of the Icebox Advisors panel

What do I get for participating?
We'll offer a "Thank You" award in the form of reward dollars for every project
that you participate in.
We will establish an account for each member, and five reward dollars will be
deposited in that account upon completion of the entire registration process.
Members can access their accounts at www.iceboxadvisors.com
at any time. Whenever you've accumulated at least ten reward dollars, you can
visit the website and trade them in for cash in the form of a check. Checks are
issued in $5 increments only.
Checks will be sent in the name of the registered Icebox Advisor panel member,
at the home address in our files. You can update this information at any time
(see below).
We will make a reasonable effort to maintain your account total accurately, but
will not be liable for any mistakes, errors, omissions, delays or interruptions
regarding your account. C&R Research Services, Inc. alone will decide any
disputes regarding reward dollar accounts. Return to top
What's Up With the Waivers in the Sign-Up Survey?
Because our members are part of a unique and exclusive advisory panel, we may
show them products and ideas that are not available to the public. As we must
trust our members to give us honest opinions about various products and
services, we must also stress the importance of keeping this information

How do I redeem my reward dollars?
You must first login to your Icebox Advisors account Click here
to login. Click the button on the left of the page that
indicates "Trade Rewards for Money". If you have at least ten reward dollars in
your account you can proceed. You will be shown the check amount and the
mailing address and given two options: "Yes, send me a check" or "No, change my
address." Should it be necessary, you will be able to update your mailing
information.
Can I win prizes or get other stuff for
participating?
From time to time we may run sweepstakes with cash or merchandise prizes of
various kinds. Participation in sweepstakes is governed by the laws of your
state, which may prohibit you from participating. Return to

Is participating in The Icebox Advisors Panel a good
way for me to make money?
Probably not. We will give you reward dollars for your time and trouble if you
participate in our projects, but you will not generally receive enough
invitations to make a lot of money from your membership in the Icebox Advisors
Panel.
People who join our panels tell us they do it because they find our projects
interesting, because they enjoy finding out what our clients are interested in
and thinking about, and because they appreciate companies making the effort to
listen to their opinions. Return to top
How do I keep my invitations from winding up in my
"Junk Mail"?
Email systems vary somewhat in how they handle Junk Mail. Most, however,
consider any email address in your list of Contacts or Address Book as a place
you want to get email from. So, please put memberinfo@iceboxadvisors.com in
your Contacts or Address book.
Many email programs - like Microsoft's Outlook and Outlook Express - allow you
to add an email address to a "Safe Senders list." Many Internet Service
Providers have similar "Safe Lists" or "whitelists" (the opposite of a
"blacklist"). Contact your email system's Help Desk for advice about

What if I don't respond to an invitation to
participate in a project?
That project won't have the benefit of your experience, opinions and insights,
but not participating won't affect your standing on the Icebox Advisors Panel.
Generally, you will have a limited amount of time to respond to an email
invitation, after which you will no longer be eligible to participate in that
project. If you don't get the chance to participate because a project is
closed, don't worry. Chances are we'll send you another invitation soon.

Can I get kicked off the panel?
Yes. C&R Research, at its sole discretion, may terminate the membership of
any panel member at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to the
following:

If you fail to respond to all communications from us for a period of six (6)
months. We will generally make at least one further attempt to communicate via
email, and will generally send at least one postcard to your address as we have
it in our files before terminating you for inactivity.

If we believe that you are not providing honest answers based on your own
experience with the products or services in our surveys.

If we believe that you have created multiple Icebox Advisors panel accounts.

If we believe that you are using information taken from our surveys, projects
or other materials to copy, distribute, sell, or otherwise disseminate material
that is the property of C&R Research Services, Inc. or any of its clients.

If we believe that you are behaving in ways that would compromise the operation
of our web sites, the privacy of our panel members, the integrity of our survey
tools, our methodologies, survey content, databases, network infrastructure or
Web presence.

If we believe that you are behaving in a way that would be damaging to our
reputation or that of our clients, or panel members.
In the event of termination, any reward dollars in your account will be

Can these policies change in the future?
Yes. We reserve the right to change our membership policies at any time, without
notice. Continued participation in our projects signifies your acceptance of
any such changes. If you do not agree with any change in our policies you
should immediately withdraw from the panel and cease participating in

How do I quit the panel?
While we strongly believe that being a member of the Icebox Advisors Panel will
be a fun and rewarding experience, there may be a situation where you'd like to
withdraw from the panel. To do so, please send an email requesting removal to:
memberinfo@iceboxadvisors.com. We will cancel your membership and you
will no longer receive emails from Icebox Advisors. Please include your full

Who will get the answers to surveys I take and
other information I provide, and how will they use it?
All data collected by us is the property of C&R Research Services, Inc.
and/or our clients. Panel members relinquish any interest in all opinions,
ideas or other information that is collected in our research projects.
Participation in our research projects does not convey any right, title or
interest in our services or any of their components or elements.

Will you sell, give, lend or rent my name and email
address to anyone else?
No, we won't.
We may make use of shipping or mailing services to deliver prizes, merchandise,
products, or materials for projects, and, in such cases, we will provide them
with the names and mailing addresses of panel members. Any organization
receiving such information from us will agree to be bound by our policies on
its use, and/or will agree to destroy all copies of the information after
fulfilling their agreement with us. Return to top
Will I get computer viruses or have ads popping up
on my computer if I join?
No - at least not from us. We don't install "spyware," "adware" or "malware" of
any kind on panel members' computers. We scan our systems constantly for
viruses and other digital miscreants, in order to keep our own systems, and
yours, clean and safe. We can't guarantee what will happen at the sites you
visit just before or after you join Icebox Advisors or take one of our surveys,
but we'll do everything we can to make sure you're safe on our sites.

Do I need any special hardware or software? Do I
need a high-speed connection to the Internet?
No, you don't.
We have tested our online survey system on a variety of computers, and our
surveys run fine on most home computer systems, but we can't test every make,
model and system configuration.
Most of our research projects require nothing faster than a typical dial-up
connection to the Internet, although things will move along faster if you have
a high-speed link. Occasionally, a project may require a high-speed connection
(DSL, cable modem, or the like) in order for you to view streaming video or
listen to audio in a survey.
Along similar lines, most of surveys work properly with the browsers in common
use these days, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari (for Macintosh
computers). We avoid the use of pop-ups, but if you have a pop-up blocker
installed, depending on how it is configured, it is possible that it will
interfere with some of our surveys.
Occasionally, we rely on common "add-in" or auxiliary programs that are already
installed in many computers. If a survey requires the use of Windows Media
Players, Flash, Shockwave, or some similar program you may be asked to download
and install the program (or a newer version of the program) before continuing
the survey. You may have to have "Administrator" rights to install software on

DESIGNS AND MATERIALS USED ARE THE PROPERTY OF C&R RESEARCH SERVICES, INC.
AND/OR OUR CLIENTS AND MAY BE USED ONLY WITH WRITTEN PERMISSION.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL C&R RESEARCH SERVICES, INC., ICEBOX ADVISORS,
ITS PARENTS OR OWNERS, OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE

DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR USE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR FOR ANY MISTAKES,
ERRORS, OMISSIONS, DELAYS OR INTERRUPTIONS, INTERCEPTIONS OR MIS-DIRECTIONS IN
THE RECEIPT, TRANSMISSION OR STORAGE OF ANY DATA, SOFTWARE, MESSAGES, SIGNALS,
OR OTHER ITEMS OR INFORMATION, OR DEFECTIVE OR DANGEROUS PRIZES OR GIFT ITEMS,
EVEN IF C&R RESEARCH SERVICES, INC. HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
SUCH DAMAGES, WHETHER RESULTING OR ARISING FROM BREACH OF ITS OBLIGATIONS UNDER
THIS AGREEMENT, THE USE OF THIS SERVICE OR ANY GIFTS OR PROMOTIONAL ITEMS, OR
OTHERWISE. THE SOLE REMEDY FOR A DEFECTIVE GIFT OR PROMOTIONAL ITEMS SHALL BE
THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE ITEM WITH A LIKE ITEM OR ITEM OF SIMILAR VALUE
CHOSEN IN THE SOLE DISCRETION OF C&R RESEARCH SERVICES, INC.. THIS REMEDY
WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF THE ITEM IS DEFECTIVE DUE TO MISUSE OR NEGLECT.
